‘Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be’

My top 10 Book recommendations

Reading has been at the core of my personal transformation journey and I love to see my clients doing the same. Books are timeless change catalysts. They can carry us back in time with age-old wisdom and time-tested hacks while also expanding our mind to the possibilities and opportunities ahead for creating a solid future.

Here are my top 10 picks personal development books that changed 2022 for me.

  1. Atomic Habits (James Clear) – A life-changing book for anyone who wants to internalise new habits, redefine their identity and, most importantly, sustain the change. The simple premise of making new habits obvious, attractive, easy and satisfying is the most powerful mechanism for forming good habits and breaking bad ones.
  2. Ikigai (Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles) : Living a life of purpose, staying in your flow and incorporating simple lifestyle changes can be the surest way to thrive at life. This book blends powerful Japanese philosophies with contemporary wisdom to enable you to discover and create a life that feels good on the inside.
  3. The 5AM Club (Robin Sharma) – In this book, the author shares some time-tested strategies, distils complex concepts and throws in some revolutionary leadership and productivity hacks that can help you catapult your life in unprecedented ways.
  4. Eat that Frog (Brian Tracy) – Are you a victim of time mismanagement and procrastination? Turn to the 21 practical strategies in this book for identifying your frogs (the most challenging yet important tasks), becoming non-negotiable with your important commitments and maintaining focus in an almost chaotic world.
  5. Do Epic Shit (Ankur Warikoo)– This book is packed with short succinct messages encompassing almost every area of your life- passion, careers, finances, relationships, habits etc. This could be a great choice for reluctant readers who can find respite in learning some of the greatest lessons in life in the form of crisp yet hard-hitting reflections.
  6. The Power of your Subconscious Mind (Dr. Joseph Murphy)– Backed with scientific research and spiritual wisdom, get ready to unravel the wonders of your subconscious mind in designing your highest life. By getting intentional about the thoughts you choose, you start creating shifts in your inner world which helps you create a new outer reality that is in alignment with your wildest dreams and boldest desires.
  7. Light is the New Black (Rebecca Campbell): Absolutely ideal for lightworkers and anyone looking for greater meaning, deeper purpose and long-lasting impact. This book puts you on a journey of homecoming to your most authentic, fierce, unabashed self with the underlying principle that you have the power to light up the world by simply ‘being you and doing you’
  8. You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life (Jen Sincero): The book is the perfect antidote to self-sabotage, self-fulfilling prophecies and self-critique. 9. Thrive (Arianna Huffington) : This book attempts to fix our broken definitions of success based on money, power and fame. 10. The Ant and the Elephant (Vince Poscente) : A profound message on self-leadership through alignment and harmony between your conscious (the ant)and subconscious brain (the elephant) is conveyed in the most simple and classic manner. Pro tip: Never force yourself to read a book; read the ones that catch your interest naturally first and then jump onto the more intense ones.
